Purchasing Clerk

Position Summary

Taconic, a global leader in the manufacturing of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts, tapes and laminates is seeking the following opening available in our corporate office in Petersburgh, NY.

A Purchasing Clerk is responsible for entering requisitions and orders for machine parts and supplies in the maintenance department. Utilization of the eMaintenance system to catalog and maintain department stockrooms including the handling of parts and material ordered. This is a 1st shift position.

Primary Duties

• Order maintenance items needed to be replenished from completed work orders, from project Bill of Materials provided by the project engineer, and requisitions, as well as maintain purchasing records.
• Prepare quarterly summary of purchases by vendor. Contacts vendors for scheduling services as required to maintain PM’s (such as sprinkler inspections / testing, and fork truck repairs).
• Receive and store incoming shipments into the Maintenance department and catalog the items in eMaintenance.
• Maintain efficient organization of the stockrooms; initiate PO’s for material replenishment as necessary by logging & maintaining stock locations and quantities in eMaintenance.
• Prepares monthly report of parts ordered for work orders assigned and completed as well as department spending.

Occasional Duties

• Run errands and retrieve supplies for department as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attributes

Associate’s degree in engineering or related field or two years of previous maintenance experience within an industrial setting. Must have an industrial background with an understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing terminology. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required. Computer proficiency with experience using Word, Excel and eMaintenance a plus. Must have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize based on changing work conditions. .

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
