About the Role
As a Purchasing Engineer specialized in mechanical components, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end sourcing activities for plastic, metal, and fastening parts used in Daiichi’s automotive electronics products. Working closely with cross-functional teams in R&D, Quality, and Program Management, you will develop supplier strategies, drive cost optimization, and ensure supplier performance in line with Daiichi’s global standards.
Key Responsibilities

Manage strategic purchasing activities for plastic injection, aluminum die-cast, sheet metal bending, and mechanical fastening components.

Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with project and corporate targets.

Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management processes.

Conduct cost analysis and support both mass production and new business quotation (RFQ) cost estimations.

Build and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers; ensure supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability KPIs.

Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and cost competitiveness during development phases.

Monitor market trends, materials cost fluctuations, and identify risk mitigation opportunities.

Drive cost-reduction and localization projects in alignment with company goals.

Ensure compliance with corporate purchasing policies and quality standards.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

3–5 years of experience in strategic or project purchasing of mechanical parts, ideally within the automotive electronics industry.

Solid technical understanding of plastic injection molding, die-casting, sheet metal forming, and related manufacturing processes.

Existing supplier network and readiness to contribute from day one.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) and MS Office tools.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).
