POSITION: Purchasing Manager

DEPARTMENT: Purchasing

REPORTS TO: General Manager

FLSA / SALARY BAND: Salary – Exempt

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement processes and supply chain management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier contracts to ensure the timely acquisition of materials for our manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong background in procurement management, inventory control, and vendor management. The Purchasing Manager manages all aspects of Global purchasingto support organizational operations efficiently and cost-effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Follow all safety rules and ISO requirements.

· Assure that work practices are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.

· Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO/IATF16949 (includes ISO 9001) standards, and company policies and procedures

· Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies

· Analyze and revise Purchasing processes to achieve the most efficient use of resources

· Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials

· Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms

· Work with other departments concerning future customer projects and proposals

· Coordinate, supervise, and evaluate all purchasing activities of subordinates

· Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking

· Establish and maintain high standards of relationships with suppliers for the most cost-effective and favorable services

· Develop and control the Purchasing budget

· Provide support and guidance to the Production Control team as needed

· Any other task as assigned by Management

· The Purchasing Manager will work closely with the PC Department Manager on a daily basis.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

· High School Diploma/GED Required

· Bachelor’s degree in business, or related discipline, or at least 5 years of experience in a Purchasing field and/or customer service role in the automotive manufacturing industry

· Advance knowledge and understanding of purchasing management, methods, practices, concepts, principles, and procedures.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and end users.

· Ability to supervise and train assigned employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as proportions and percentages

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

· Excellent communication skills, both in written and oral communication, and organizational skills

· The ability to write routine reports

· Must be willing to work flexible hours

· Ability to analyze and solve problems.

· Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.

· Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software programs

· Ability to work in and promote a team-based environment

· Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects

· Travel requirements: Domestically and internationally as required

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The Team Member is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Must be able to work in a warm environment on a daily basis for extended periods

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
