As we continue expanding our product catalog and online presence, we’re seeking a detail-oriented and driven Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing operations and vendor development efforts.

Position Overview

The Purchasing Manager will oversee all purchasing functions for our e-commerce division, including sourcing, cost negotiation, vendor relationship management, and product line expansion. This role requires a strong understanding of the online marketplace environment, excellent Excel and analytical skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Vendor Development & Negotiation
• Identify and establish new vendor relationships through trade shows, distributor outreach, and online research.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and freight agreements to ensure maximum profitability and competitiveness in the online marketplace.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing suppliers to ensure timely delivery, consistent product quality, and ongoing cost improvement.
• E-Commerce Purchasing Management
• Manage product sourcing and replenishment for e-commerce platforms including Amazon, Walmart, and Shopify.
• Evaluate supplier quotes and purchase orders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and profitability.
• Monitor pricing trends, MAP policies, and competitor listings to support dynamic repricing and margin management.
• Data & Financial Analysis
• Use advanced Excel skills to analyze sales velocity, forecast demand, and calculate reorder quantities.
• Track cost changes, landed cost calculations, and vendor performance metrics.
• Collaborate with accounting and warehouse teams on purchase order accuracy, invoicing, and freight cost reconciliation.
• Trade Show & Industry Engagement
• Attend regional and national trade shows to discover new vendors and product opportunities.
• Represent the company professionally while networking and negotiating in-person with potential partners.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with warehouse, operations, and marketing teams to align purchasing strategies with inventory and sales goals.
• Communicate lead times, stock issues, and cost changes promptly to relevant departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of purchasing experience in e-commerce, retail, or distribution.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask under deadlines.
• Experience with Amazon Seller Central, Walmart Marketplace, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
