Purchasing Specialist

Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Specialist supports sourcing, ordering, and tracking materials, supplies, and services. This role follows up on deliveries, while maintaining positive relationships with vendors and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparing and processing purchase orders, requisitions, and invoices.
  • Researches potential vendors, compare pricing, and obtain quotes.
  • Tracks deliveries to ensures timely receipt of goods and services.
  • Maintains accurate purchasing records, files, and vendor databases.
  • Communicates with suppliers regarding order status, shipment, or discrepancies.
  • Coordinates with internal departments to identify purchasing needs and confirm specifications.
  • Monitors inventory levels and alerts the Purchasing Manager when stock is low.
  • Assists with resolving issues related to damaged, late, or incorrect shipments.
  • Ensures compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, associate’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or administrative support is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with problem-solving abilities.

Salary Range: Libertyville, IL. $18 - $22/hour

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
