Python Intern

About the Role

We're looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Python/DevOps Intern to join our development team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to bridge the gap between application development and modern infrastructure practices. You'll gain hands-on experience developing Python applications and deploying them using containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, testing, and debugging of new features for existing Python applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient Python code.
• Containerize Python applications using Docker for consistent development and deployment environments.
• Learn and apply basic Kubernetes concepts to help deploy and manage containerized applications in a cluster environment.
• Collaborate with the development and operations teams to automate build, test, and deployment processes (CI/CD).
• Document development and operational procedures.
• Participate in code reviews and team sprints.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid foundational knowledge of Python syntax, data structures, and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line interface.
• Strong eagerness to learn and work with DevOps tools.
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.

Preferred/Bonus Skills

• Prior experience or coursework with Docker (writing Dockerfiles, basic container commands).
• Familiarity with the concepts of Kubernetes (Pods, Deployments, Services).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Understanding of web frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django) is a plus.
