News and information are available at or follow us on .AtkinsRealis is seeking an accomplished QA/QC Director to lead the quality assurance and quality control functions for a landmark High-Speed Rail infrastructure project . This pivotal role ensures that all engineering, construction, and operational activities meet the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and performance excellence.The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in large-scale transportation projects-particularly rail systems-and demonstrate exceptional leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments. Key Requirements and Accountabilities: Strategic Leadership & Planning Develop and execute a comprehensive QA/QC strategy tailored to the high-speed rail project. Define quality objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with project milestones. Lead risk-based quality planning and ensure seamless integration with overall project delivery schedules. Quality Assurance Oversee the design and implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and applicable rail industry standards. Ensure rigorous design reviews, audits, and inspections are conducted throughout all project phases. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to validate constructability and compliance with technical specifications. Quality Control Supervise site inspections, material testing, and verification of construction quality. Ensure contractors and subcontractors adhere strictly to approved quality plans and procedures. Manage non-conformance reports, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Team & Stakeholder Management Lead and mentor a team of QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and auditors across multiple project sites. Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and third-party auditors to ensure transparency and compliance. Deliver regular quality performance reports to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Documentation & Compliance Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, audits, certifications, and quality documentation. Ensure full compliance with local, regional, and international rail safety and quality regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or engineering discipline; Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable. Minimum of 20 years of experience in QA/QC roles, including at least 5 years in the Middle East. Proven track record of successful implementation on projects of similar scale and complexity. Certification in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASQ CQE) is an advantage. In-depth knowledge of rail industry standards (e.g., AREMA, EN, UIC).
