Position Overview:

To coordinate ALEC Fitout quality activities and be responsible for the site quality management system.

Core Job Functions:

The individual will be responsible for (but not limited to):

Quality Management System

• Establish and maintain Project Quality Assurance plan defining/detailing the Procedures/process. Plan, Organize and Manage the QA QC team for the implementation of project quality management system
• Day to day attendance/surveillance to site activities. Monitor and control subcontractor’s quality of work, support sub-contractors in achieving the Project Quality requirements. Conduct site walks /meetings with Execution team/sub-contractors/consultants and provide technical guidance/solutions to sub-contractors for the challenges during the execution of the project.
• Coordinate Lead/Manage all meetings related to QAQC

Submittals Management

• Ensure the implementation of Electronic Document management System (EDMS) and managing all submittal reviews (both internal and by consultant) through EDMS by all stake holders of the project.
• Develop and establish a comprehensive schedule of all planned material submittals / Method statements and major Engineering calculations based on the project schedule. Review and ensure submittal schedule from subcontractor comply with project submittals schedule.
• Review subcontractor’s prequalification/Conduct Organize factory visit to verify the capability/ compliance to project requirements and provide recommendation.
• Review /Ensure the Submittals and ITPs from subcontractors are in accordance with project specifications/contract requirements.
• Coordinate with team, subcontractors and Consultants - to ensure the progress of submittals are as per schedule.
• Analyze the submittal review comments from Consultants, identify the impacts, trends, communicate with Project team, develop & Implement action plans; verify the effectiveness.
• Review shop drawings/details and ensure the details are as per relevant approved calculations.
• Review/Study the project documents including drawings, specifications, Contract documents, PTCs , Deviation schedules, Value Engineering schedule and understand the Project scope thoroughly.

QA QC Inspections and Tests

• Develop /Establish detailed inspection schedule for the Project in line with Project Program, identifying total number of inspections activity wise - each day/week/month, covering all activities in coordination with project Team. Monitor the actual inspections progress with team, ensure the updating the schedule in coordination with Operation team/Sub contractors.
• Develop/Establish comprehensive Test Directory/schedule for the project identifying the test standard, frequency, date, responsibility, and monitor the progress.
• Implement Digital Platform (Electronic work flow) for work inspection, Material Inspection and Snags in coordination with Information Management Specialist/QA QC Central Support. Ensure/verify the adequacy of Work inspection/Material inspection Electronic workflows including the capability of post inspection notes and workability/operability at site.
• Study/understand the firestopping requirements of the project, communicate with QA QC Team and ensure the Firestopping activities are Performed as per specifications/drawing requirements.
• Monitor inspection status, analysis status reports, Consultant’s comments and trend analysis, implement corrective actions for the variations from plan and verify the effectiveness
• Organize/Manage offsite inspections in coordination with execution team, Consultant and subcontractor/supplier/manufacturer.
• Ensure the inspections and testing are conducted as per the approved ITP in coordination with team, subcontractors, Testing Lab and Consultants. Verify the test reports for the compliance to specification.
• Close Site Instructions/non-conformance reports from Consultant within 14 days of receipt in coordination with subcontractor, execution team and consultant. Conduct a review of the Site instruction/corrective action to verify the scope for a potential claim and communicate to commercial department.

Project Closeout

• Manage the closeout documentation/deliverables including identification of closeout requirements, preparation, submission and approval from consultant.
• Establish and Implement the procedures and Electronic Workflows for snagging /de-snagging at project site. Ensure the snagging and de-snagging are as per project schedule, in coordination with execution team, Consultant and subcontractors.
• Analyze and report to Project Director, the snagging process including snagging status, type of Snags, Area/activity wise snags.
• Ensure all relevant project data attributes are captured/populated in EDMS / or any data format.

Training

• Provide/Administer training on materials, workmanship to the execution team and /QA QC team

Reporting

• Report to commercial department regarding the poor performance of subcontractor in quality or any other concerns, which needs to be actioned contractually.
• Report to commercial department regarding all QA QC submittals comments or NCR’s from consultants which will entail variation.

Requirements:

• B. Eng degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
• 12+ years as engineer in a construction environment, including significant time in the QA/QC department in senior position
