A QA/QC Engineer for a mid-rise tower project ensures all construction activities—structural, architectural, and MEP—meet project specifications, approved drawings, and international/local standards (ASTM, BS, UAE Codes). Key tasks include preparing Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), conducting site inspections (WIRs), managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and checking material quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspections: Conduct daily site inspections for civil, structural, and architectural works (foundations, column casting, blockwork, plastering).
  • Material Approval: Inspect incoming materials to ensure they conform to approved, submittals, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Documentation: Prepare, update, and manage QA/QC documents, including ITPs, Material Inspection Reports (MIRs), and Method Statements.
  • Non-Conformance Control: Issue NCRs for deviations, investigate root causes, and follow up on corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Coordination: Act as the technical liaison between site construction teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Testing: Witness site tests (e.g., concrete slump tests, cube casting, density tests).

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: 3–8 years of experience, specifically in mid-rise or high-rise building projects.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and construction materials (concrete, steel, finishes).
  • Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and ability to read blueprints.
