QA/QC Engineer

About the role

Touq Readymix is looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer to lead quality control across our concrete production operations. You will supervise the QC department, ensure raw materials and finished products meet international standards, and act as the technical bridge between production and compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct impact on product quality and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

Quality inspection & compliance

• Conduct regular, rigorous inspections of raw materials (aggregates, cement, admixtures) and fresh/hardened concrete
• Ensure all testing and production processes comply with ACI, ASTM, BSI, and local regulatory standards
• Validate Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs), perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to completion
• Proactively monitor delivered products to minimize customer complaints

Operational leadership & supervision

• Supervise, mentor, and coach a team of Lab Technicians and Helpers
• Prioritize daily tasks, delegate responsibilities, and drive team performance
• Oversee implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) across the plant

HSE

• Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies within the QC department
• Contribute to incident investigations and liaise with the HSE team on abnormal site conditions

Reporting & administration

• Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports for management
• Review and validate shop drawings for production accuracy
• Provide technical input on daily production activities and staff development

Requirements

Education & experience

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience specifically in the Readymix or Precast concrete industry

Technical knowledge

• Extensive knowledge of concrete technology, including mix design and proportioning
• Deep familiarity with international codes: ACI, PCI, BSI, and ASTM
• Strong understanding of precast element production and readymix delivery processes
• Practical knowledge of MENA construction market challenges
• Advanced computer skills — MS Office and ERP systems
