QA/QC Engineer – MEP

Job Summary:

The QA/QC Engineer – MEP is responsible for implementing and supervising quality assurance and quality control procedures specifically for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works on-site. This role ensures that all MEP activities, materials, and installations adhere to project specifications, standards, and safety regulations. The QA/QC Engineer acts as the quality representative for MEP systems, conducting inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure compliance and quality excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Planning & Management

· Develop and review MEP-specific quality plans, inspection, and test plans (ITPs).

· Ensure the availability and proper implementation of quality documentation for MEP works.

· Monitor the effectiveness of quality control measures on-site.

2. Inspection, Testing & Certification

· Conduct regular inspections of MEP installations, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, standards, and specifications.

· Witness and verify testing, commissioning, and functional checks of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical systems, and equipment.

· Ensure sampling, testing, and certification of materials and MEP systems are properly performed.

3. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions

· Identify, document, and report non-conformances related to MEP works.

· Coordinate with site teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.

· Track NCRs and ensure timely closure.

4. Documentation & Records

· Maintain detailed records of inspections, test reports, calibration, and certifications.

· Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports specific to MEP activities.

· Assist in preparing as-built documentation and handover dossiers for MEP systems.

5. Coordination & Communication

· Liaise with construction teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants regarding quality issues related to MEP installations.

· Attend project meetings and provide technical input on quality matters.

· Ensure all personnel are aware of MEP quality standards and procedures.

6. Compliance & Standards

· Ensure MEP works comply with local codes, standards (like NFPA, IEC, NEC, etc.), and project specifications.

· Monitor adherence to safety policies during all MEP inspection and testing activities.

· Stay updated on relevant standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Educational Background: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, / Electrical, Engineering.

· Experience: 3-6 years of QA/QC experience focused on MEP works within construction projects.

Technical Knowledge:

· Strong understanding of MEP systems, installation practices, and testing procedures.

· Familiarity with relevant standards (NFPA, IEC, NEC, local codes).

· Knowledge of inspection, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems.

Skills:

· Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

· Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.

· Ability to handle multiple inspections and manage QA/QC documentation efficiently.

· Proactive in identifying issues and recommending solutions.

Certifications: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH), and relevant technical certifications are advantageous.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

· Site-based with frequent inspections at various locations.

· Physically capable of working in diverse environments and weather conditions.

· Flexibility to work extended hours during critical project phases.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
