Position Overview

The QA/QC Engineer (UPDA Grade B) will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation of quality assurance and control procedures on-site for all supervision activities. The role focuses on maintaining compliance with project specifications, Qatar Construction Standards (QCS), and client requirements, ensuring that works executed by the contractor meet approved quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, inspect, and verify all site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and QCS standards.
  • Implement the project’s Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure adherence to the consultant’s QA/QC procedures.
  • Review and approve contractor’s QA/QC documentation, including ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), method statements, material submittals, and test reports.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and participate in all quality-related inspections (material, workmanship, and installation).
  • Coordinate with the contractor’s QA/QC team and site engineers to close out non-conformance reports (NCRs) and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all materials and works comply with the approved standards and client specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed inspection and testing records, checklists, and quality reports.
  • Assist the Resident Engineer in verifying progress for payment certification based on approved works.
  • Ensure all quality documentation is properly maintained and easily retrievable for audits or project close-out.
  • Attend QA/QC meetings with the contractor and client representatives to discuss quality performance and improvement measures.
  • Support the Project Manager and discipline engineers in resolving technical and quality-related issues on-site.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • UPDA Grade B certification (MMUP/UPDA – Qatar) is mandatory.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in supervision consultancy projects in Qatar.
  • Experience in Ashghal / PWA projects will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Qatar Construction Standards (QCS) and local authority requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in QA/QC procedures, inspection methods, and documentation control.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and audit procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and standard QA/QC documentation tools.
