Position Summary
The QA/QC Structural Inspector will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting all civil and structural activities at the Reqo Diq site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, international standards, and project quality requirements. The individual will support the Contracts and Construction team in maintaining quality assurance, documentation, and ensuring work is executed as per standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct inspection and quality checks of structural activities including excavation, foundation work, concrete, rebar, shuttering, steel structures, and finishing work.
- Verify execution of work against IFC drawings, project specifications, and relevant quality codes.
- Review and ensure compliance with Method Statements, ITPs, Project Quality Plans and site procedures.
- Monitor concrete production, placement, slump checks, curing, compaction, and sampling for lab testing.
- Inspect reinforcement detailing, bar spacing, cover, welding, bolt torque tightening, alignment and dimensions.
- Maintain daily inspection reports, checklists, log sheets, site photographs and material traceability records.
- Coordinate inspections with client/consultant for Hold, Witness & Surveillance points.
- Identify non-conformance during execution and issue NCRs with corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure closure of punch list/defects prior to handover.
- Monitor contractor’s work performance and report any deviation from drawings or standards.
- Support project documentation, QA/QC audits and final handover packages.
- Ensure safety compliance and quality assurance integration in all ongoing works.
Qualification & Experience Requirements
- DAE / B.E in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 5–8 years proven experience in large-scale infrastructure or industrial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of concrete works, rebar inspection, steel structure erection and finishing.
- Familiarity with ACI, ASTM, BS/EN codes, QA/QC documentation and ITP implementation.
- Ability to prepare and manage RFIs, NCR reports, Inspection Logs and QA documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD/Bluebeam is a plus.
- Strong communication, reporting and coordination skills.
