Key Responsibilities1. Raw Material Testing

· Conduct physical and chemical testing of all incoming raw materials (resins, pigments, solvents, additives, etc.).

· Verify supplier COAs and ensure materials meet approved quality specifications.

· Maintain sampling and testing records for audit and traceability.

2. In-Process Quality Control

· Check batch-wise in-process parameters such as viscosity, density, shade matching, fineness, pH, solid content, gloss, drying time, etc.

· Coordinate with production teams to adjust batches based on QC results.

· Ensure adherence to batch correction procedures.

3. Finished Goods Quality Assurance

· Perform quality checks on finished paint products before packing and dispatch.

· Conduct shade approval, stability tests, adhesion, scrub resistance, opacity, and other relevant performance tests.

· Apply AQL standards for acceptance/rejection decisions.

4. Documentation & Reporting

· Maintain test records, quality logs, calibration sheets, batch cards, and QC reports.

· Prepare daily QC reports and assist in monthly quality summaries.

· Ensure proper labeling of samples and maintain retention samples.

5. Laboratory & Equipment Management

· Ensure proper calibration and upkeep of QC lab instruments (Viscometer, Spectrophotometer, Grind Gauge, Gloss Meter, pH Meter, etc.).

· Maintain chemical inventory, glassware, and lab housekeeping standards.

· Follow laboratory safety protocols and PPE requirements.

6. Quality Improvement & Compliance

· Assist in root-cause analysis for quality issues and customer complaints.

· Support implementation of ISO, 5S, and other quality management systems.

· Participate in internal audits and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).

7. Cross-Functional Coordination

· Collaborate with production, R&D, supply chain, and sales teams for quality alignment.

· Provide technical support for new product trials and shade corrections.

· Assist in vendor quality evaluation and raw material development.

Skills & Competencies

· Strong knowledge of paint formulation, raw materials, and QC testing methods.

· Familiarity with decorative/industrial paint standards.

· Proficiency in laboratory equipment handling.

· Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Attention to detail and strong documentation ability.

· Good communication and coordination skills.

Qualifications & Experience

· Education: DAE Chemical / B.Sc / B.Tech (Chemical) or related field.

· Experience: 1–3 years in paint industry QC or laboratory environment (fresh graduates may also be considered).

Work Environment

· Laboratory-based role with exposure to chemical handling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs65,000.00 - Rs75,000.00 per month
