Job Title: QC Inspector – Painting (Oil & Gas Sector)

BGAS Grade 2 or NACE Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level IIMandatory.

Working Conditions:

  • Salary : QAR 8,000 + Food + Transportation + Accommodation
  • Contract Duration: 02 Months (Extendable)
  • Work Location: Ras Laffan Industrial City
  • Working Days: 6 days per week
  • Working Hours: 10 hours per day (including lunch break)
  • Environment: Field-based role in industrial and offshore/onshore project sites.

Job Overview:

The QC Inspector – Painting is responsible for ensuring that all surface preparation and painting/coating activities are performed in compliance with applicable project specifications, international standards, and client requirements. The position requires a technically skilled inspector with practical knowledge of protective coatings used in the oil and gas industry and strong quality assurance practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspection and verification of surface preparation, priming, painting, and coating applications in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards (ISO, SSPC, NACE, etc.).
  • Review and approve surface preparation and coating procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and relevant quality control documentation.
  • Ensure that all painting materials used are approved, stored, and handled as per manufacturer’s recommendations and project requirements.
  • Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) during coating activities and ensure compliance with specification limits.
  • Verify surface cleanliness, profile, and dry film thickness (DFT) using appropriate inspection instruments and maintain proper calibration records.
  • Conduct visual inspections for coating defects such as holidays, pinholes, runs, sags, and other irregularities.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspection results and generate inspection reports, NCRs, and corrective action follow-ups.
  • Liaise with client representatives, third-party inspectors, and contractors to resolve quality-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in quality audits, pre-job meetings, and toolbox talks to promote quality awareness and safety compliance.
  • Ensure all painting and coating works adhere to HSE standards and company procedures.

Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Coating Technology (preferred).
  • Certification:
  • BGAS Grade 2 or NACE Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level IIMandatory.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Painting/Coating QC Inspector in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Prior experience with EPC or maintenance projects in offshore or refinery environments will be advantageous.

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of coating materials, surface preparation methods, and application techniques.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools such as DFT gauges, surface profile gauges, holiday detectors, and environmental monitoring equipment.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 8501, SSPC, ASTM, and NACE.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and coating data sheets.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.

Soft Skills:

  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with multi-discipline teams.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: Up to QAR8,000.00 per month
