QC Inspector – Piping (Marine Industry)

Job Purpose:To ensure that all piping fabrication, installation, testing, and inspection activities in shipyard/marine projects comply with project specifications, international codes, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform inspection and quality control of piping fabrication, installation, and hydro/pneumatic testing for marine projects.Review isometric drawings, P&IDs, and material specifications for compliance with project and classification society requirements.

Verify fit-up, alignment, welding parameters, and consumables as per WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).

Conduct dimensional checks, visual inspection, and NDT coordination for piping weld joints.

Monitor piping spool fabrication, erection, supports, and connections onboard vessels or offshore structures.

Ensure proper documentation of inspection reports, test certificates, welding logs, and quality records.

Coordinate with clients, third-party inspectors, and classification societies (ABS, DNV, LR, BV, etc.) for inspections and approvals.

Verify compliance with ITP (Inspection & Test Plan), QCP (Quality Control Procedures), and project specifications.

Witness hydro/pneumatic testing, flushing, reinstatement, and system handover activities.

Report non-conformities, recommend corrective/preventive actions, and follow up on closure.

Ensure adherence to HSE standards and promote a culture of quality and safety in the work area.
