Job Purpose:
To ensure that all sanitary ware and tile products meet the company’s quality standards and customer specifications through systematic inspection, testing, and documentation throughout the production and packaging processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspection & Quality Control
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of sanitary ware and tiles at various production stages (raw materials, in-process, and final product).
- Check for defects such as cracks, glaze issues, color variation, chipping, uneven surfaces, and improper sizing.
- Verify that products comply with approved samples, technical drawings, and quality specifications.
- Inspect packaging and labeling to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
2. Testing & Measurement
- Perform standard quality tests (e.g., water absorption, breaking strength, chemical resistance, glaze thickness).
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, thickness gauges, and templates to verify product dimensions.
- Record test data accurately and compare against specified tolerances.
3. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain records of accepted and rejected products.
- Report non-conformities to the QC Supervisor and assist in root cause analysis.
- Maintain inspection logs, test results, and sample retention records for audit purposes.
4. Process Monitoring
- Monitor production lines to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Work closely with production teams to provide feedback and corrective action on quality issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and suggest preventive measures to reduce defects.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001 or internal quality systems).
- Follow workplace safety protocols and ensure proper handling of materials and testing equipment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma / Technical Certificate in Ceramics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in quality inspection within the sanitary ware, ceramics, or tiles industry.
- Good understanding of quality control standards, inspection procedures, and testing methods.
- Strong attention to detail and visual inspection skills.
- Basic knowledge of ISO quality systems and documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
