QC Mechanical Engineer

Job Opportunity – QC Mechanical Engineer (Substation / OHTL Projects)

Location: Saudi Arabia

We are currently seeking a highly skilled QC Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in the construction of Electrical Substations and Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL) , particularly in High Voltage (HV) / Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects (132kV / 380kV).

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in quality control, inspections, and compliance with international and client standards within large-scale power transmission projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Quality Control procedures for mechanical works in substations and transmission line projects.
• Maintain and manage all quality documentation including:
• System manuals
• International standards & client specifications
• Technical data sheets & catalogs
• Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
• Ensure compliance across mechanical systems including:
• Firefighting & fire alarm systems
• Plumbing & drainage systems
• Coating & galvanizing works
• Pump installations
• Sewage treatment systems
• Conduct inspections from raw material stage through to final testing and commissioning.
• Monitor inspection and testing activities with project quality and construction teams.
• Perform root cause analysis for non-conformities and technical issues (including telecom-related activities where applicable).
• Ensure strict adherence to Project Quality Plan (PQP), ITPs, Method Statements (MOS), Project Technical Specifications (PTS), and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders including:
• Construction & Project Managers
• Suppliers & Vendors
• Third-Party Inspectors
• TQM teams

 Support construction teams with technical guidance to improve quality and project progress.

 Prepare and maintain complete project quality documentation until handover.

 Track and report KPIs including:

• Quality cost performance
• NCRs
• Preventive actions
• Lessons learned and trend analysis

 Ensure effective interface between engineering disciplines is reflected in quality deliverables.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 10 years of experience in QC for Substation / OHTL projects
• Strong experience in HV / EHV projects (132kV / 380kV)
• Solid knowledge of international standards (IEC, ANSI, etc.)
• Experience with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) approval is highly preferred
• Strong analytical, inspection, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project environments
