Quality Technician

Job Purpose

The QC Technician is expected to perform tasks to aid and support quality production. This will include ensuring all tasks and responsibilities are conducted in a safe manner and with a focus on producing and supporting operators to produce quality products within the time required by our customers, and ensuring it is completed at the lowest cost possible.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operations:

Perform standard responsibilities as a QC Technician within the assigned department – they include the following:

· Operate in accordance with all safety and quality policies and procedures

· Test all process material and finished goods inventory in accordance with operating procedures.

· Complete all incoming inspections for raw material

· Complete DRM request for failed raw materials

· Tag material as finished goods; inspecting material on the production floor

· Perform in-process audits and evaluate productions performance to quality standards.

· Tabulate and report product rejection, and audit data to the Quality Control Manager.

· Perform and maintain records, both digital and physical, of calibrations internally and externally for HPC.

· Perform engineering sample testing.

· Perform failure analysis testing.

· Perform operator certifications as on schedule and maintain records.

· Order supplies, maintain and prepare solutions and chemicals for use in all OSI areas.

· Participate as calibration representative for internal and external to comply with AS9100/ISO9000, and customer audits. All calibrations will be maintained in Gagetrak software.

· Communication with all levels of personnel

· Conduct on-the-job certification for new employees and existing employees that are assigned to the department.

· Other duties as assigned

Teamwork:

Daily communication with supervisors, coworkers, operators, and other shifts to ensure operational objectives are met.

Comply with lean manufacturing initiatives within department.

Provide continuous improvement ideas for Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Cost Reduction and Efficiency.

Support and comply with company policies and procedures as applicable.

Demonstrate a positive and supportive attitude.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications and Skills include:

  • Ability to manage time sensitive tasks
  • Must be self-motivated and self-directed
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Microsoft products
  • Excellent work record, including safety, quality and attendance
  • Positive Attitude
