Quality Inspector – Role Expectations
Hy-Speed Machining is looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team. This position is critical to ensuring our precision-machined parts meet the rigorous standards required for the Aerospace, Environmental, and Commercial industries. You will be responsible for the full life cycle of inspection, from receiving raw materials to final shipping. This is an on-site position.

- Monday – Thursday: 6:00 am – 4:30 pm (4/10 shift)

Job Description
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9100, including creation and review of ballooned drawings and complete FAI packages.
- Perform in-process and final inspections, ensuring inspections are performed at defined control points and documented accurately.
- Review inspection results for accuracy and completeness prior to product release.
Technical Interpretation & Decision-Making
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and customer requirements, providing guidance to inspectors and production personnel.
- Evaluate product conformity and make accept/reject decisions within defined authority.
Metrology & Equipment Oversight
- Perform and oversee inspections using CMMs, Keyence machines, height gages, surface plates, micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gages as appropriate and specialty fixtures.
- Verify that inspection tools and gages are within calibration and suitable for use.
Quality System & Compliance
- Support compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management system, ITAR and DFAR requirements.
- Ensure inspection activities are conducted in accordance with documented procedures, work instructions, and customer-specific requirements.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of quality control experience specifically within a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
- Standards: Solid understanding and working experience with AS9100 or ISO Quality standards.
- Skills: Strong mathematical skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
- Communication: Ability to communicate technical findings effectively with team members of all skill levels.
- Physical Requirements: Specific vision abilities required include close/distance vision, color depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
