Quality Assurance Manager

Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose:

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for supporting, creating and implementing quality assurance programs following ASD standards through the organization, co-manufacturing and suppliers, as well as defining & integrating the quality objectives and food safety requirements in all development steps.


Accountabilities:

Day-to-day Operations:

  • Support in out of standards incident related to food safety and make sure it is following the approved guidelines and rules.
  • Provides technical support and expertise in quality related problem solving, risk analysis and crisis management.
  • Ensure Q&FS standards in CBU is aligned with global standards.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’ to improve business processes, cost efficiency and productivity.

Q&FS Audits:

  • Ensure internal audits are planned in order to control the compliance between daily practices & quality system for Food Safety and PRP/Hygiene.
  • Ensure the Development of continues Improvement Plan for Food Safety and PRP.
  • Ensure external audits are planned, prepares & mobilizes people in order to ensure the success of compliance and certification with close follow up on action plan.
  • Validates the effectiveness of the traceability system and Food defense System as part of Food Safety Program.
  • Ensure the implementation of Al Safi Danone FSI Systems that includes all sections.

Quality & Food Safety in Design:

  • Ensure all the new products, processes and equipment are designed as per ASD and global quality and food safety standards. (Ex: Food safety control equipment, SFDA, AIBI, FSI etc.).
  • Participate in different project design meetings and ensure Q&FS part in Al Safi Danone methodology implementation at each stage.
  • Ensure the Documentation system in the plant is well maintained with respect of tracking, changing, and implementation.
  • Implement Change Management program including Q&FS risk assessment to control the effect of changing on the product.
  • Ensure the quality of new product is safe from raw materials to finished goods dispatch to branches. (Ex: heat treatment, allergen management, storage, receiving etc.)
  • Lead all kind of projects from Q&FS point of view to add value in business. (Ex: Productivity, Co-Manufacturing etc.)

Co-Manufacturing

  • Ensures that the manufactured finished products are compliant with the value promises to the customer/ consumer and Al Safi Danone Quality requirements (Food Safety, Specs etc.).
  • Contributes to Co-manufacturers selection and evaluation; with “veto” authority.
  • Ensures the “no spec no prod” at Co manufacturers and “no spec no buy” management.
  • Ensure Co manufactured products Food Safety & Quality continuous improvement programs (Co manufacturers audits, relevant quality KPI’s).
  • If needed provides technical support and expertise in quality related problem solving, risk analysis and crisis management.

Supplier Management

  • Ensures that the raws & packs are compliant with the value promises to the customer/consumer and Al Safi Danone processes requirements. (Ex: Manufacturing, SC etc.).
  • Contributes to Suppliers selection and evaluation; with “veto” authority.
  • Ensures the “no spec no buy” implementation thru the sourcing process.
  • Ensure validation of raws and packs specifications regarding Quality & Food Safety, fosters specifications improvement in collaboration with plant.
  • Provides technical support and expertise in quality related problem solving, risk analysis and crisis management.
  • Ensure the raws and packs Food Safety & quality continuous improvement programs at Suppliers based on Al Safi Danone standards (suppliers audits, relevant quality KPI’s, quality monitoring of raws and packs).



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technologies, Chemical/Micro or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 8 – 10 years’ experience in Quality and food safety and related Certification and auditing
  • FMCG/Dairy experience is required.
  • Communication skills, Analytical skills, People management skills, and Auditing skills.
  • Fluent English Speaker.
