Quality Control Inspector - Roads Projects

Job summary

Euro Group for Engineering Consultancy is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform material testing and inspection for road and bridge projects in Jeddah. The role is responsible for onsite and laboratory testing, documentation, quality assurance, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform testing and inspection of road and bridge materials (aggregate, asphalt, concrete, soils, etc.) in the field and laboratory.
  • Collect, prepare and test samples according to standard procedures and project specifications.
  • Record, analyze and report test results; prepare daily/weekly QA/QC reports.
  • Monitor workmanship and materials during construction to verify compliance with contract documents and standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment; ensure laboratory safety and quality control procedures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, test logs, and chain-of-custody records.
  • Assist with non-conformance reporting and corrective action follow-up.

Qualifications Required (candidate must meet one of the following):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 1 year of experience testing road and bridge materials; OR
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of experience testing road and bridge materials; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Geology, or Geophysics with a minimum of 3 years of experience testing road and bridge materials.

Preferred (strongly desirable):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with 2 years of experience testing all road and bridge materials; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Geology, or Geophysics with 6 years of experience testing all road and bridge materials.

Skills and attributes

  • Strong knowledge of material testing standards (ASTM, AASHTO, EN or local standards).
  • Proficient in laboratory and field testing techniques for asphalt, concrete, soils and aggregates.
  • Good report writing, data analysis and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills and commitment to safety.
  • Valid local driving license preferred.

Contract length: 24 months
