and structural steel fabrication is seeking an accomplished
QC Manager
to lead Quality & HSE functions across plant and project operations. This role requires a strategic leader with strong technical depth, audit expertise, and hands-on quality control experience within structural steel fabrication environments..
🔎 Key Responsibilities:
1️⃣
Quality Management System (QMS) Leadership
-
Review and evaluate QMS at planned intervals to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 & AISC 207
-
Define required changes and lead documentation updates for procedures and forms
-
Develop, maintain and control Quality Manuals
-
Conduct Management Reviews to ensure system effectiveness
-
Maintain external certifications (AISC, ABS and other regulatory bodies)
-
Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and customer requirements
-
Monitor customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis and oversee corrective actions

HSE Management System Oversight
-
Review and ensure compliance with ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018
-
Guide documentation updates for HSE procedures and records
-
Ensure legal and regulatory HSE compliance
3️⃣
Audit & Compliance Management
-
Plan and lead internal product, process & procedure audits
-
Act as Lead Auditor and mentor internal audit teams
-
Facilitate and approve Inspection & Testing Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans
-
Administer corrective action processes and ensure timely closure
4️⃣
Quality Control Operations
-
Establish and enforce quality control parameters including tolerances, welding parameters, surface profiles, WFT, DFT & workmanship standards

Oversee incoming material inspections, in-process inspections & pre-shipment inspections
-
Reduce internal and customer rejections through preventive and corrective measures
-
Identify key processes and lead process mapping, analysis & improvement initiatives

Establish KPIs and performance monitoring systems

Cost of Quality (COQ)

Monitor and report COQ
-
Drive initiatives to reduce non-conformance and operational inefficiencies
6️⃣
Supplier & Subcontractor Quality Management
-
Develop and implement supplier and subcontractor evaluation programs
-
Define external supplier quality requirements in coordination with procurement
-
Recommend strategies to achieve desired quality performance levels
7️⃣
Leadership & Department Management
-
Manage departmental operational & financial budgets (as per company authority levels)

Set priorities, assign tasks and enforce company policies
-
Conduct performance appraisals and develop KRAs/KPIs for team members
-
Identify training needs and build team capability
-
Promote teamwork, safety culture and cross-functional collaboration
-
Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Manufacturing, Engineering, Materials, Sales, Estimation, Project Management, LPD) and external parties (customers, suppliers, auditors, testing labs, inspection agencies)

Qualifications & Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Postgraduate degree preferred)

Lead Auditor (LRQA/CQI) – Essential
-
ASNT Level III – Essential
-
Senior Certified Welding Engineer / Inspector – Essential
💼
Experience:
-
15+ years total experience, including minimum 7 years in a senior QA/QC leadership role
-
Extensive experience in structural steel fabrication & corrosion protection
-
Strong application knowledge of AISC, AWS D1.1 welding codes & ISO standards

Technical & System Skills:

Proficient in MS Office, MS Project & ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
