Quality Control Supervisor
IHC Investments, Inc. / The Hemp Collect
Canton, NC (On-site)
Full-time | $55,000–$70,000/year DOE + Quarterly Bonus
About Us
The Hemp Collect / Modern Herb Co is a fast-growing hemp-derived product manufacturer producing inhalables, edibles, and topicals across multiple brands. We are consolidating operations to our North Carolina facility and building the team that will run it. This is a ground-floor opportunity to own QC for a scaling operation.
The Role
You own quality control — period. From the moment raw materials hit our dock to the moment finished product ships, you are the sign-off authority. You'll build and enforce QC systems across intake, production, packaging, and fulfillment while coordinating with our inventory team on intake support and our lab team on in-process checkpoints.
This is a combined QC + intake oversight role. Our inventory specialists handle the physical receiving and staging. You own the standards, testing, sign-off, and reject authority.
What You'll Do
Sampling, Testing & Release Control:
- Develop and execute sampling plans for raw materials, in-process batches, and finished goods
- Review, approve, or reject materials based on internal specs and Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
- Own product quarantine, hold, rejection, and release authorization
- Escalate out-of-spec results and lead investigations and corrective actions
Intake QC Oversight:
- Oversee intake QC for production oils, isolates, cannabinoids, terpenes, and packaging components
- Coordinate with co-manufacturers to ensure inputs are sent, received, and documented correctly
- Verify incoming materials against vendor specs, COAs, and quality targets
- Manage vendor quality sheets and keep documentation organized and audit-ready
Production & Packaging QC:
- Ensure QC procedures are embedded at every stage of production and packaging
- Conduct in-process QC checks to verify SOP adherence and spec compliance
- Maintain batch integrity documentation
Fulfillment & Shipping QC:
- Oversee final QC checks before shipment
- Verify labeling, lot accuracy, packaging integrity, and release authorization
Inventory & Traceability:
- Maintain lot-level traceability from intake through shipment
- Conduct random weekly QC audits comparing physical inventory to system records
- Coordinate weekly extract inventory cycle counts with the inventory team
- Investigate discrepancies and drive resolution
SOPs & Compliance:
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve QC SOPs, forms, and records
- Maintain audit-ready documentation at all times
- Lead deviation investigations and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes
- Ensure compliance with cGMP-style standards
What You Bring:
- 3+ years QC experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (food, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, cannabis/hemp, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience with sampling, testing, and batch release procedures
- Strong working knowledge of inventory management systems (MRP/ERP)
- Proven ability to manage lot traceability, audits, and compliance documentation
- Working knowledge of cGMP principles and hygiene standards

- Experience supporting internal or external audits

- Quarterly performance bonus
- Ground-floor role in a growing company consolidating to a single, purpose-built facility
