Quality Control Technician

Daily Duties

1. Assists the Press Operators in the determinations of acceptable pasta on start of production, changeover for extruded pasta

2. Extruded-Pasta Analysis

a) Utilize shredding scale for cut length measurement

b) Record data on wet press sheet on ignition

c) Deem pasta packable when pasta is in target and or within cut length specification

d) Hourly rounds verify:

1. Cut length is within specification range

2. Visual inspection of pasta for

i. Smearing

ii. Clumping

iii. mis shapes

iv. any other findings while inspecting pasta.

3. Report on any findings

3. Verify, dry finished good pasta is packable at the end of the line to deem packable into finish good silo

4. Finished Pasta Analysis

a) Taking Door’s 2 moistures

b) Taking end moisture

c) Obtain a sample hourly for QA staff to measure for COA creation

d) Utilize tape and Caliper instruments to measure cut length dry product

e) Recording measurement data into ignition of dry product

f) Visual inspection of pasta for

i. Smearing

ii. Clumping

iii. mis shapes

iv. any other findings while inspecting pasta

g) Report any findings

5. Assists in production changeovers and determining when product is packable

a) Verify production changeover has been performed in production

b) Verify Changeover sheet is completed by staff performing changeover and verified by QA Department.

6. Hourly checks of ingredient feeders and reporting findings

7. Complete daily Quality Department GMP and reporting findings

8. Complete daily belt inspection and reporting findings

9. Assist Press and Quality department on customer trial sample runs

10. Monitor and Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist Press Manager and Quality Assurance Manager in monitoring food safety and product quality concerns

2. Quality inventory checks (sample bags, black marker, etc.)

3. Work weekends when necessary

4. Assisting with egg swabbing in production during allergen cleanup and recording data on allergen sheets and on allergen spreadsheet

5. Assist Quality team with unloading flour when needed

6. Assist Quality team with measurements for COA creation when needed

7. Assist Quality team on reworking products when needed

8. Assist Quality team on labeling received ingredients when needed

Food Safety:

· Shall follow GMP’s, SOP’s, Food Safety Plan, Hand Washing protocol and Master Sanitation schedule

· If unable to perform their duties the Quality Assurance Manager shall be backup.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
