Quality Engineer

Emerald Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer who is analytical, collaborative, and passionate about continuous improvement. In this role, you’ll drive data‑based decisions, strengthen quality systems, and collaborate across engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure every PCBA product meets the highest standards.

Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer
:

  • Lead root‑cause investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues.
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) tools, including control charts, capability studies, and MSA, to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to support continuous improvement and resolve cross‑functional quality concerns.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation such as inspection criteria, sampling plans, control plans, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support for PCBA inspection, measurement methods, and application of IPC/J‑STD workmanship standards.
  • Participate in product and process improvement activities, including DFM reviews, equipment validation, and nonconforming material disposition.

Qualifications of the Quality Engineer
:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in PCBA or electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Proficiency with SPC, MSA, capability studies, and statistical analysis tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of PCBA processes, including soldering, reflow, AOI, ICT, and functional testing.
  • IPC‑A‑610 and/or J‑STD‑001 certification (preferred or required).

Schedule: Monday through Friday.
Choice of:
  • 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Occasional adjustments may be required to support operational needs
Note: Schedule may vary based on business needs and coverage requirements. Flexibility is expected to ensure adequate operational support, and while typical coverage is Monday through Friday, occasional adjustments may be required.
This is a full‑time, salaried position budgeted at approximately 40 hours per week. Occasional additional hours may be required to meet business needs.
