Quality Engineer - Automotive Parts Manufacturing (35721)

A global manufacturer of automotive parts is currently seeking a motivated Quality Engineer to join their facility in the Columbus, Ohio area. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of Quality Engineering experience in the automotive industry, and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and suppliers. This is a full-time and direct hire position.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Product quality inspection and assurance, root cause analysis, corrective action, etc.
• Identify and resolve issues in product design, testing, and production
• Ensure that products and manufacturing processes are meeting customer, industry, and governmental standards; plan and execute process and quality audits
• Communicate with suppliers and participate in supplier quality audits, process improvements, etc.
• Creation of quality documentation (PPAP, APQP, Fishbone, etc.)
• Act as point of contact for customers’ quality issues, questions, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Quality Engineer Requirements Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
• Valid certification in Six Sigma or ISO / IATF Auditing is a plus but not required
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Quality Engineer or in a quality-adjacent role (including internships, co-ops, etc.), preferably within the automotive industry
• Familiarity with PPAP and APQP documentation, ISO / IATF standards, 8Ds / 5 Whys, etc.
• Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
• This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
