We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support the Elastomers team at our Northwest Houston facility. The role focuses on quality control, compliance, and manufacturing support for rubber seals used in RAM and annular BOPs, following API and ISO quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage NCRs; follow up on dispositions.
  • Oversee manufacturing-related quality requirements for elastomer molding, inspection, assembly, and testing.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with API 16A, ISO 9001, ASME, and related standards.
  • Review inspection reports and verify product conformance.
  • Create and manage TPI POs and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Conduct contract reviews and hold kickoff meetings with customers and TPIs.
  • Monitor job packet completion and ensure full final traceability prior to assembly.
  • Coordinate customer and TPI involvement for assembly and testing.
  • Witness hydrostatic testing and review test charts.
  • Maintain calibration logs; coordinate external calibrations as required.
  • Investigate customer complaints and support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform internal audits to ensure readiness for API and ISO recertification audits.
  • Develop and maintain a quality management system (QMS) to ensure successful API and ISO audits.
  • Conduct supplier audits and support vendor-quality issues.
  • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2–3 years of quality engineering experience in oil & gas; elastomer/polymers experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an API 16A or ISO 9001 environment.
  • Familiarity with API, ISO 9001, ASME, ASTM standards.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, risk assessment, and CAPA.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Strong documentation and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
