Role Summary
The Quality Inspector - Electrical is responsible for monitoring and ensuring all electrical installations and testing activities comply with approved project specifications, electrical codes, quality procedures, and inspection requirements. The role involves daily site inspections, identifying non-conformances, reviewing contractor submissions, and ensuring that all electrical works meet the project's quality objectives. The inspector works closely with the QC Manager, electrical engineers, and contractors to maintain high-quality execution across all electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct daily site surveillances to ensure electrical works are progressing according to approved ITPs, checklists, and specifications

Identify deficiencies, faults, and non-compliance issues related to electrical works and report them immediately to the QC Manager for corrective action

Close all electrical WIRs and MIRs after verifying that all required documentation and approvals from relevant discipline engineers are complete

Review and understand electrical specifications, drawings, PQP, ITPs, method statements, QC procedures, and other related quality documents

Witness testing and inspection of electrical systems and materials (e.g., cables, switchgear, grounding, conduits, panels) and complete associated forms per approved procedures

Monitor and review contractor practices related to electrical quality and safety to ensure compliance with project requirements

Conduct daily coordination meetings with the contractor's QC representative to ensure full understanding of electrical quality management procedures

Assist the construction team with resolving electrical quality issues and technical challenges

Support the Quality Manager (QM) in preparing and executing quality audits related to electrical work

Prepare daily QC reports and submit them to the QC Manager no later than 9:00 AM the following day

Verify that all electrical testing tools and measuring devices have valid calibration certificates

Review and maintain logs of electrical WIRs, MIRs, MARs, NCRs, and other quality documentation

Report any discipline-related miscoordination affecting electrical systems to the Resident Engineer (RE) and Quality Manager (QM)
Qualifications & Requirements

5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environment

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, testing, and commissioning

Familiarity with international electrical codes and standards

Excellent attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting skills

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, technical specifications, and method statements

Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to resolving quality issues
