Position Overview:
The Head – Quality & Safety is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management Systems across the construction site. This role ensures that all work meets project specifications, statutory requirements, and company standards, while maintaining a safe and sustainable work environment.
Key Responsibilities:Quality Management:
- Develop, implement, and monitor the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in line with ISO 9001 standards.
- Ensure that all construction activities conform to approved drawings, specifications, codes, and standards.
- Conduct internal quality audits, inspections, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Review and approve material submittals, method statements, inspection & test plans (ITPs), and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors on all quality-related matters.
- Maintain quality records, test reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and ensure closure within specified timelines.
- Provide regular quality performance reports and metrics to management.
Safety Management:
- Develop and implement the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management System in compliance with ISO 45001 and statutory regulations.
- Lead the safety team to ensure proactive hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, toolbox talks, and safety drills at site.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and ensure effective corrective/preventive actions are implemented.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure 100% compliance with PPE and site safety procedures.
- Liaise with government authorities and ensure compliance with all legal and environmental regulations.
Leadership & Coordination:
- Lead and mentor the Quality & Safety teams across multiple packages and subcontractors.
- Coordinate between site execution teams, design teams, and clients for quality and safety-related issues.
- Prepare and present QHSE performance reports during project review meetings.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure training and awareness programs for all levels of staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Additional certifications in Quality Management (ISO 9001) and Safety (NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA / ISO 45001) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 12–20 years of experience in construction / infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing Quality & Safety functions.
- Experience in large-scale EPC, industrial, or infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, buildings, plants, etc.).

- Proficiency in audit, documentation, and root cause analysis.
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and ensure compliance under tight project schedules.
