Quality Technician

Quality Technician – 1st Shift

Location: St. Paul, MN
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 1st Shift

Quality Tool is a growing contract manufacturer of precision metal components serving Fortune 500 companies. Our ISO-certified fabrication capabilities include laser cutting, punching, welding, machining, and assembly. We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and team-oriented Quality Technician to join our St. Paul team.

Position Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company standards and customer specifications. This role supports continuous improvement efforts and helps maintain the integrity of our ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify that established quality and production processes are followed to ensure defect-free components; assist in administering corrective actions when processes are not followed
  • Perform first article inspections (FAI) and complete required documentation
  • Follow ISO 9001 Quality System guidelines applicable to assigned areas
  • Analyze procedures, material standards, inspection techniques, and equipment for process improvement opportunities
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance regarding quality measurements and procedures
  • Maintain accurate quality records and documentation
  • Assist with administration of the calibration system; ensure all inspection and measuring tools are properly calibrated
  • Monitor quality metrics including rejects, scrap, rework, and vendor performance; participate in improvement initiatives
  • Log defect data into DMR/CAR database
  • Conduct final inspection audits of completed components to verify production process effectiveness
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet customer and business needs

Desired Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Trade school training in a relevant discipline with 1–2 years of experience, or 3–4 years of equivalent manufacturing quality experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T
  • Proficiency using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, precision blocks, squares, and CMM equipment
  • Experience in maintaining quality system documentation and work records
  • Strong attention to detail and quality orientation
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and problem resolution

Salary & Benefits:
