Quantitative Researcher

We are seeking a Quantitative Researcher for our company operating in the oil and gas sector.

Location: İstanbul- Ankara

About the Role

We are looking for a Quantitative Researcher to join our growing commodities research team.

You will work on developing, testing, and implementing data-driven trading and forecasting models using quantitative and machine learning techniques.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical mindset, programming skills, and a passion for financial markets — prior experience in commodities is not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test quantitative models for commodity price forecasting and market analysis.
• Work with time series and alternative datasets to extract predictive signals.
• Research and implement machine learning algorithms for forecasting and trading strategies.
• Collaborate with data engineers and traders to integrate models into production workflows.
• Continuously monitor model performance and improve robustness and interpretability.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience as a Quantitative Researcher, Data Scientist, or similar analytical role.
• Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, etc.).
• Solid understanding of statistics, econometrics, and machine learning.
• Experience with time series modeling (ARIMA, XGBoost, LSTM, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a research-driven environment.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to financial markets, especially commodities or macro data.
• Knowledge of quantitative finance concepts (futures, hedging, spreads, volatility, etc.).
