Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Quantity Estimator specializing in aluminium and glass systems for large-scale construction projects. In this role, you will estimate material costs, quantities, and labor, and collaborate with engineers and project managers to deliver accurate quotations and cost assessments. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in both civil and mechanical engineering, proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and an in-depth understanding of the aluminium and glass industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Quantity Take-off:

• Prepare accurate and detailed quantity take-offs for aluminium and glass projects, using project drawings and specifications.
• Estimate material, labour, and overhead costs for various construction projects (civil and mechanical).
• Analyse and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design documents to extract cost and quantity data.

Quotation & Tender Preparation:

• Develop detailed quotations and tender proposals for potential clients based on project scope.
• Collaborate with the sales, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure cost-effective and competitive pricing for each project.
• Review and compare vendor quotes, material costs, and subcontractor pricing to ensure optimal value.

AutoCAD Integration & Design Coordination:

• Utilize AutoCAD to analyse and interpret technical drawings for accurate takeoff measurements.
• Collaborate with design teams to resolve discrepancies between drawings and specifications, ensuring seamless integration of aluminium and glass components.

Project Management Support:

• Assist project managers with cost tracking and material usage control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain and update project cost records regularly to ensure alignment with the budget and timelines.
• Provide on-site support and guidance as needed during the construction process to ensure accurate cost estimations.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth coordination of material requirements and pricing.
• Participate in project meetings and reviews to provide input on cost, timelines, and material usage.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in Quantity Surveying or Estimation is a plus.

Professional Experience:

• 3 years of experience in quantity estimation for aluminium and glass construction, specifically in civil and mechanical engineering projects.
• Proven experience with AutoCAD and MS Excel for estimation and reporting.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for interpreting design drawings and generating accurate quantity take-offs.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros) for cost estimation and reporting.
• Knowledge of aluminium and glass materials, including fabrication, installation, and cost considerations.
• Familiarity with BOQ, unit rates, and other industry-specific cost estimation methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge or experience in Aluminium Glass projects.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial and residential projects in the UAE.
