Job Description:
As a Quantity Surveyor at Kohistan Builders & Developers, you will play a pivotal role in managing and controlling costs within our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tendering and possess extensive experience in the field of quantity surveying.
Job Responsibilities:
- Tendering Process: Lead and manage the tendering process, ensuring accurate and competitive bids. Collaborate with the project team to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Cost Management: Monitor project costs throughout the entire lifecycle, identifying potential cost overruns or savings. Implement effective cost control measures to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Quantity Takeoff and Estimation: Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and estimations for materials, labor, and other project-related costs. Utilize industry-standard methods to ensure accuracy.
- Contract Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and conditions. Review and assess contract documents to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Project Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all project-related costs, including contracts, change orders, and other relevant documentation. Provide regular reports to the project team and senior management.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project costing and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Work closely with the project team to ensure proactive risk management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on tendering.
- In-depth knowledge of construction costs, contracts, and procurement processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, cost estimating software).
