Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage all cost estimation, budgeting, and contract administration for our construction projects. The role involves preparing BOQs, cost plans, tender documents, and ensuring cost-effective delivery of projects while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, and value engineering.
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect/engineer.
- Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to achieve cost targets.
- Monitor project budgets, cash flows, and ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Measure and value work done on-site; process interim payments and final accounts.
- Assess variations and claims and provide advice on contractual matters.
- Prepare periodic cost reports for management and clients.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction costs, contracts, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and Quantity Surveying software (Candy, CostX, etc.).
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Professional certifications (RICS / AIQS) preferred but not mandatory.
- 3–8+ years of relevant experience in construction cost management.
