Quantity Surveyor

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our contracting team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects of building construction projects, including cost estimation, quantity take-offs, subcontract administration, payment certifications, variations, and final accounts. The ideal candidate will have strong contractor-side experience in the UAE and the ability to effectively manage project costs while ensuring contractual compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and tender documentation.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Analyze subcontractor quotations and prepare commercial comparisons.
  • Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare interim payment applications, valuations, and final account submissions.
  • Measure completed works and verify subcontractor invoices.
  • Prepare and evaluate variation orders, claims, and contractual correspondence.
  • Track project progress and prepare monthly commercial reports.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and planning teams.
  • Maintain accurate cost records, quantity measurements, and commercial documentation.
  • Identify commercial risks and recommend cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and company procedures.
  • Assist during tendering by reviewing quantities, pricing, and commercial submissions.
  • Support project close-out activities, including final measurements and account settlements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum 8 years of Quantity Surveying experience.
  • Mandatory experience in UAE building construction projects with a contracting company.
  • Experience working on large-scale residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, quantity surveying principles, and UAE construction practices.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, contract administration, and subcontract management.
  • Experience handling variations, claims, payment certifications, and final accounts.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software; ERP experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Immediate joiners or candidates available within 0–10 days will be given preference.
