Quantity Surveyor (QS Engineer)

A&M International is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (QS Engineer) to join our team in the United Arab Emirates. We are looking for a professional with strong expertise in cost estimation, quantity take-off, contract administration, and commercial management to support the successful delivery of construction projects.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring financial control, preparing valuations, and supporting both pre-contract and post-contract activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for various construction projects.
• Manage project budgets and monitor cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate contractor payments, interim valuations, and final accounts.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accurate cost assessment.
• Prepare and negotiate variations, change orders, and contractual claims.
• Conduct cost analysis and provide value engineering recommendations to optimize project costs.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure commercial alignment.
• Assist in tender preparation, evaluation, and contract administration processes.
• Monitor project expenditures and prepare regular financial and commercial reports.
• Ensure compliance with contract conditions, project requirements, and company procedures.
• Support dispute resolution and claims preparation when required.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience within the United Arab Emirates as a Quantity Surveyor or QS Engineer.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction costs, measurement standards, and cost control techniques.
• Experience in FIDIC contracts and commercial management is preferred.
• Proficiency in quantity take-off software and Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in building construction, infrastructure, or MEP projects within the UAE.
• Familiarity with cost management software and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of UAE construction market practices and pricing structures.
• Experience working with multinational teams and large-scale projects.
