Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Muscat, Oman. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs from estimation through to final accounts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with Omani construction laws, FIDIC contracts, and client specifications.
Ideal applicants will have strong experience in Oman or GCC-based construction projects, and a solid understanding of local market rates, regulations, and construction practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and BOQs from architectural and engineering drawings.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, and track budget vs. actual progress.
- Manage tenders, contract documentation, subcontractor negotiations, and procurement processes.
- Perform cost analysis, handle variations and claims, and issue interim payment certifications.
- Ensure full compliance with Omani labor laws, building codes, and FIDIC contractual terms.
- Collaborate with project managers, consultants, and clients on all financial and contractual matters.
- Prepare final accounts and close-out documentation, maintaining detailed cost records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in construction or contracting.
- GCC or Oman project experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Omani building codes, regulatory standards, and local market rates.
- Experience working with FIDIC contracts and local contract law.
- Familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software like Candy or CostX.
- Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and reporting ability.
