Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced QS/Procurement Executive with strong expertise in interior fit-out and joinery works. The ideal candidate must have a proven background in tendering, cost estimation, local market pricing, and vendor negotiation. The role requires at least 4 years of professional experience in Oman and the ability to manage procurement and quantity surveying functions for interior and joinery projects.
Key Responsibilities
Tendering & Documentation
- Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare detailed BOQ (Bill of Quantities) for interior fit-out and joinery projects.
- Prepare and submit tender proposals in coordination with the design, finance, and project management teams.
- Identify risks and clarify tender queries with clients/consultants.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for carpentry, joinery, MEP, HVAC, and other fit-out materials.
- Obtain competitive quotations and conduct detailed price comparisons to ensure cost efficiency.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships to secure favorable terms and ensure reliability.
- Track supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
Cost Management & Estimation
- Provide accurate cost estimates and budgets based on local market prices.
- Monitor project costs and variations to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Assist the project team in cost control, value engineering, and contract administration.
- Maintain updated knowledge of local material and labor pricing trends in Oman.
Contract & Negotiation
- Prepare subcontractor agreements and procurement contracts.
- Lead price negotiations with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing without compromising quality.
- Ensure all commercial terms and conditions are aligned with company policies and Omani law.
Reporting & Coordination
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and finance teams to align procurement with project schedules.
- Provide regular procurement and cost status reports to management.
- Support the Finance Manager with supplier payment certifications and contract compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Procurement, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years’ proven experience in Oman in interior fit-out and joinery projects.
- Strong knowledge of local market pricing in carpentry, joinery, MEP, HVAC, and finishing works.
- Excellent skills in tendering, estimation, and documentation review.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and estimation software (Candy/CCS, or similar).
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
