Sr. Quantity Surveyor

Muscat, Oman

Job Purpose:

To manage and control project costs from estimation to final accounts, ensuring timely delivery within budget while providing accurate contractual and financial advice in line with Oman’s construction and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and BOQs from drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, and monitor budgets vs. actual progress.
  • Manage tenders, contracts, subcontractor negotiations, and procurement.
  • Perform cost analysis, assess variations, and certify interim valuations & payments.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts (FIDIC), Omani labor laws, and client requirements.
  • Liaise with project managers, consultants, and clients on financial/contractual matters.
  • Prepare final accounts, close-out reports, and maintain detailed cost records.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 4–6 years’ experience in construction/contracting (preferably GCC/Oman projects).
  • Knowledge of local Omani building codes, regulations, and market rates.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 45001 (Safety), and ISO 14001 (Environment).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD & QS software (Candy, CostX, etc.).
  • Excellent commercial, negotiation, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural team and deliver under pressure.

Key Skills:

  • Cost planning & estimation (civil, infrastructure, and building works)
  • BOQ preparation & tendering (local & international standards)
  • Contract administration, claims & variation management (FIDIC)
  • Budget monitoring, cost control & risk analysis
  • Strong knowledge of Omani market rates & supplier network
  • Commercial & financial acumen with GCC project exposure
