Purpose of Position: To provide excellent private cremation services to veterinarians, their clients, and the general public.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.   • Perform all aspects of the cremation process including: loading, unloading, processing and packaging of remains.
  • Transport deceased pets from veterinary clinic to Rainbow Bridge facility in company vehicle
  • Place orders for engraving with offsite company via email
  • Prepare and perform clay paw impressions
  • Label sympathy cards to clients
  • Perform data entry of customer intake as well as payments received and payments due
  • Delivering pets ashes to participating veterinarians
  • Communicate with veterinarians or clients regarding their deceased pets via phone, email and/or in person


Position Qualifications: Education, Experience, Certification, and Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Must have a good knowledge of city streets
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and compassionately both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Must be able to work cordially, safely and efficiently in fast-paced, stressful conditions.
  • Maturity, good judgment, professional manner, and professional appearance

Desired

  • Customer service experience
  • Windows/Microsoft Word experience
  • Experience in a Veterinary clinic, Animal welfare field or Pet Crematory/Funeral Home

Work Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.   • Minimum 40 hours per week
  • The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet, though barking or whining of animals may be escalated at certain times in certain areas of the building.
  • High exposure to animals whose reactions to the shelter environment cannot be predicted.
  • Temperatures in the shelter environment are varied, though usually moderate, and dependent on the season.
  • Potential exposure to zoonotic diseases and hazardous chemicals.
  • Ability to work around animals without severe allergic reactions.
