Standard Job Description

Position Summary

The Raw Material Coordinator is responsible for maintaining raw material inventory and operating cut-steel equipment to ensure quality, accuracy, and continuous flow of steel to forging crews.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor quality of saw performance and finished cut steel.
  • Monitor and control scrap levels.
  • Operate and monitor saws and related equipment.
  • Organize, track, and maintain raw material and cut steel inventory.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on saws (e.g., greasing, lubricating).
  • Maintain raw material and cut steel yards, including signage.
  • Maintain work area and equipment; perform housekeeping tasks (sweeping, shoveling) to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Receive raw material, verify identification, and ensure proper labeling.
  • Record and input quality inspection information into Plex.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and company policies.
  • Demonstrate situational awareness and respond quickly to safety hazards.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Forging or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Must be able to operate a forklift (or willingness to be trained and certified)

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged standing required
  • Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and handling materials
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Ability to use close, distance, peripheral vision, and adjust focus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
