Job Summary

Directing all activities related to the research and development department by analyzing research to improve and develop current and new products.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participating with the leadership in setting short and long-term business strategies for achieving the company's objectives.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities to enable the organisation to be proactive in the constantly changing environment.
  • Setting a budget for the Department in coordination with the Finance Department at the company to be submitted to the GM for review and approval. Controlling the financial performance of the Department and keep it within the set budget.
  • Setting, cascading and communicating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for monitoring the performance of sections and units under supervision.
Technical Duties
  • Approving all formulas, ingredients, and specifications required for TSC products.
  • Developing all analytical and quality control metrics regarding product manufacturing quality and storage.
  • Leading cross-functional teams from quality, production, finance, marketing and sales to identify customer needs and create new feasible products that tackle those needs.
  • Analyzing the results of the research to make decisions for quality, cost, ingredient substitution, and applied technology.
  • Exploring & recommending new equipment innovations to ensure the efficient production of new developed products.
  • Approving the required specification for products.
  • Updating new formulas for existing products.
General Administrative Duties
  • Conducting periodic meetings with subordinates for reviewing progress and work flow, discussing their suggestions and taking suitable actions accordingly.
  • Preparing periodic reports with respect to the activities and achievements to be submitted to the direct manager for review.
  • Specifying manpower requirements according to the recruitment and selection system and as per the human resources planning practices at the company.
  • Identifying training needs of subordinates and evaluating the outcomes of the training courses in coordination with the concerned personnel in the Human Resources department.
  • Following up on employee affairs, including vacations, leaves etc.
  • Conducting performance appraisals for subordinates according to scheduled plans and recommending necessary actions as per the applied practices at the company.
  • Performing any other duties related to his / her job as assigned by the Direct manager.
Job Specifications & Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemistry Eng.
  • Preferred PhD in Chemistry.
  • 10+ years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent knowledge on one or two of the following products Pigment Paste, Ink, Pigment Powder or Liquid Masterbatch.
  • Knowledge of competitors products
  • Driving innovation across the product portfolio
  • Excellent command of the English language
