R&D OFFICER

We are looking for an experienced and highly innovative R&D Officer with 10+ years of expertise in the Food & Beverage sector. The ideal candidate will lead product development initiatives, optimize formulations, and drive innovation aligned with market trends and consumer demands. This role requires deep technical knowledge, strong execution capabilities, and proven experience in F&B - R&D environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of new food & beverage products—from concept creation to commercialization.
• Develop and optimize formulations to improve taste, texture, shelf life, cost, and nutritional value.
• Conduct laboratory trials, pilot-scale testing, and coordinate plant-scale production tests.
• Ensure all R&D activities comply with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO, local regulatory bodies).
• Evaluate Existing& new ingredients, technologies, and suppliers to support innovation.
• Conduct sensory evaluations, product benchmarking, and consumer-oriented testing.
• Analyze market trends, competitor products, and customer insights to identify innovation opportunities.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, SOPs, and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with QA/QC, Production, Procurement, and Marketing teams.
• Support cost optimization, process improvement, and continuous innovation initiatives.
• Mentor junior R&D staff and lead technical training when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in R&D within the Food & Beverage industry.
• Strong expertise in formulation, product development, sensory analysis, and food processing techniques.
• Deep understanding of F&B regulatory standards, food safety, and industry compliance.
• Proven experience in managing complex projects and launching successful products.
• Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and implement practical solutions.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong leadership and mentoring experience preferred.

Pay: RO400.000 - RO500.000 per month
