R&D Officer – Mushroom Spawn & Vertical Farming

SG Allied Businesses Limited is a diversified agri-tech group working in *mushroom spawn production, vertical farming, and protected agriculture. We are looking for a motivated **R&D Officer* to assist our technical team in *mushroom spawn development, cultivation trials, and agricultural research* related to controlled environments.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys *lab work + farm-level experimentation*, data analysis, and practical problem-solving.

### *Key Responsibilities*

* Assist in *mushroom spawn R&D* (culture handling, inoculation trials, strain performance evaluation)

* Support *spawn lab operations* under sterile conditions (basic aseptic techniques)

* Conduct *crop trials* in vertical farming systems (mushrooms, leafy greens, specialty crops)

* Maintain *R&D records*, trial data, and basic reports

* Assist in testing *new substrates, formulations, and cultivation techniques*

* Monitor growth parameters (temperature, humidity, CO₂, yield, contamination levels)

* Coordinate with production teams to *translate R&D results into commercial practice*

* Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives

### *Required Qualifications*

* Bachelor’s degree in *Agriculture, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Horticulture, or related field*

* Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; *1–3 years experience* is a plus

* Basic understanding of:

* Mushroom cultivation or plant production

* Laboratory hygiene and sterile handling

* Willingness to work both *in lab and farm environments*

* Good observation, documentation, and analytical skills

### *Preferred Skills (Advantage)*

* Exposure to *mushroom spawn labs*, tissue culture, or microbiology labs

* Familiarity with *controlled-environment agriculture / vertical farming*

* MS Excel or basic data analysis

* Curiosity, experimentation mindset, and attention to detail
