The R&D Pharmacist is responsible for conducting research, developing new pharmaceutical formulations, improving existing products, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. The role requires a strong understanding of formulation science, process development, and analytical techniques.**
Key Responsibilities: Formulation & Product Development:
- Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical dosage forms (tablets, capsules, liquids, ointments, etc.).
- Conduct pre-formulation studies, ingredient selection, and excipient compatibility assessments.
- Perform lab-scale trials and support pilot-scale production batches.
Stability & Analytical Testing:
- Plan and execute stability studies according to ICH guidelines.
- Analyze test data and assess product shelf life and storage conditions.
- Collaborate with the QC team for analytical method development and validation.
Process Development & Scale-up:
- Assist in scaling up processes from laboratory to production scale.
- Support technology transfer to the production team with proper documentation and guidance.
- Troubleshoot formulation and process-related issues.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare technical documents: development reports, batch manufacturing records (BMR), SOPs, and product dossiers.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the regulatory affairs team in compiling CTD/ACTD files for registration.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with departments such as QA, QC, Regulatory, Production, and Packaging.
- Provide technical input during audits and regulatory inspections.
Innovation & Product Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving existing formulations or developing cost-effective alternatives.
- Stay updated on scientific literature, market trends, and emerging technologies.
✅ Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Pharm-D or M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology, or related field)
- Experience: 1–3 years in pharmaceutical formulation and development (R&D department)
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical formulations and excipients
- Familiarity with GMP, GLP, and ICH guidelines
- Skilled in using lab instruments (e.g., HPLC, dissolution tester, viscometer)
- Proficient in MS Office and documentation practices

- Experience in novel drug delivery systems (NDDS)
