Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Real Estate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in various legal disciplines related to real estate transactions, property management, and commercial leasing. This role involves providing expert legal counsel, drafting and reviewing contracts, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The attorney will play a vital role in supporting our clients' real estate investments and development projects while maintaining the highest standards of legal integrity and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial real estate contracts, leases, purchase agreements, and related documentation.
- Provide legal advice on property acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, zoning, and land use matters.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case preparation and legal opinions.
- Assist clients with estate planning related to real estate holdings and transactions.
- Advise on environmental law issues affecting property development and management.
- Manage litigation cases involving real estate disputes, landlord-tenant conflicts, or title issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws including tribal regulations when applicable.
- Collaborate with law office staff on legal drafting, administrative tasks, and case management.
- Represent clients in negotiations with tenants, buyers, sellers, government agencies, or other stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and relevant legal developments affecting commercial real estate.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar with active license to practice law.
- Proven experience in commercial real estate law or related fields such as land use, zoning, or property transactions.
- Strong expertise in estate planning, environmental law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, family law, patent law, tribal law & regulations, personal injury law, immigration law (nice-to-have).
- Proficiency in legal research tools including LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with strong writing skills for drafting legal documents.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and provide sound legal advice under tight deadlines.
- Prior experience working in a law office environment with legal administrative responsibilities is preferred.
