  • This position, working in collaboration with Real Estate Bureau management, will work independently performing work that is varied and occasionally difficult applying a full performing knowledge of real estate, title examination, and other real property related issues and competence to non-routine complex work.
  • This position will work with the acquisition team participating in negotiations, settlements, and condemnation proceedings for assigned projects in accordance with approved schedules and budgets.
  • In addition, this position will be responsible for training in advanced title research principles and practices.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Individual must possess critical thinking skills and the ability to learn to conduct research in the public records throughout the District’s 16-county jurisdiction.
  • The ability to learn and issue title search memorandums to be relied upon for use in District activities, including land acquisition, condemnation proceedings, regulatory enforcement cases, right of way maintenance, permitting and enforcement, and construction of water control structures and facilities.
  • Possess basic knowledge of all types of legal descriptions and the ability to learn to draft metes and bounds descriptions contained in a chain of title; basic knowledge of how real estate laws and court actions relate to land titles; and basic knowledge of title insurance industry laws and underwriting criteria

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Land Resource Management, or Business Administration
4+ years of experience as a journey level professional with responsibility for real estate, land resources management or related work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Fluent in English and Spanish.

Employment Guidelines
Valid State of Florida Driver's License required.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Due to the District's response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
