JOB TITLE: Receiver

REPORTING TO: Cost Controller


THE POSITION

The Receiver is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and recording all goods delivered to the hotel, ensuring compliance with purchase orders, quality standards, and internal control procedures.

Key Relationship section:

Internal:

Cost Controller, Chief Accountant, Director of Finance and Requestors of Items from Other Departments.

External:

Suppliers, Contractors, Auditors.


RESPONSABILITIES

  • Receive all incoming goods, materials, and supplies in accordance with approved Purchase Orders (POs).
  • Verify quantity, quality, and specifications of delivered items against delivery notes and POs.
  • Inspect goods for damage, expiry dates, and overall quality; reject non-compliant items.
  • Ensure all received items are properly documented, stamped, and signed.
  • Prepare Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and submit required documentation to Finance.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Stores, and relevant departments regarding discrepancies or shortages.
  • Ensure timely delivery of received items to appropriate storage locations or departments.
  • Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety standards in the receiving area.
  • Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and hygiene standards, especially for food and beverage items.
  • Support inventory counts and audits as required.
  • Comply with hotel policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
  • Embrace and practice the company’s legacy values and competencies in all, team, and stakeholder interactions, acting as a role model for the desired culture and behaviors.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar receiving or store role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory control and documentation.
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards is an advantage.


EXPERIENCE


  • 1–2 years of experience in a Receiver, Storekeeper, or Stores Assistant role
  • Experience in hotel, resort, or hospitality environment preferred
