Receptionist - San Antonio, TX

As a receptionist, you support students, families, and team members by providing excellent customer service and serving as the first point of contact for visitors and phone inquiries. The receptionist will primarily focus on supporting student enrollment activities, ensuring parent satisfaction, and meeting families’ needs by sharing information, coordinating with other team members, and greeting all visitors. Receptionists are directly managed by the Campus Operations Leader.


Your Responsibilities

  • Receive and route incoming calls, take accurate messages, and direct to appropriate staff.
  • Greet visitors to campus.
  • Support in recording accurate information for attendance purposes.
  • Support student enrollment activities through on-the-ground recruitment. These activities increase during the summer months.
  • Operate office systems (postage machine, copier machine, switchboard, laptop computer, etc.)
  • Manage and distribute mail and packages.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Engage parents, volunteers, and visitors in a manner that engenders confidence in the school and the administration office.
  • Provide clerical assistance.
  • Demonstrate the core values of Compass Rose in word and action: Respect, Ingenuity, Growth, Honesty, and Teamwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the school's operations and success.


You have

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in Spanish (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of varied experience in customer service, operations, and/or schools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to keep all stakeholders informed: network staff, campus leadership, teachers, parents, students, and school operations staff.
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
  • Ability to multitask and can prioritize without guidance.


Your schedule

  • Year-round position with general operating day hours of 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (exact schedule may vary).
  • Minimal in-town travel and after-hours events required.
  • Full-time, Non-exempt, 12-month.
